Director's Spotlight: The Division of Employment Security   

MO Labor Department Director Larry Rebman The past two years have been hard on the State of Missouri, and on millions of hard-working Missourians. Unemployment in our state is at a 30-year high, and people are staying unemployed for far longer than usual. Many Missourians have exhausted all the unemployment benefits for which they were entitled. The Division of Employment Security (DES), a division within the Missouri Labor Department, is the state agency responsible for administering unemployment benefits in Missouri. In these difficult times, we have striven to be responsive to both workers and our business partners.

 

 

Missouri Labor Department Launches New and Improved Web Site

Helping Customers Find the Information they need within Three Clicks

The new web site has several new features designed to make information and services more user friendly and customer oriented. Mo. Workers Memorial Day Logo Every year on April 28, communities across the nation recognize workers who have been killed or injured on the job. This nationwide observance is called “Workers Memorial Day.”

Continuing this tradition, the Missouri Labor Department invites you to attend this year’s Workers Memorial Day ceremony, Remembering Workers, Promoting Safety, to pay tribute to those workers who lost their lives on the job in 2009.

   
   

Workers' Compensation Referrals for Violations Doubles in 2010

Show-Me Fair Housing Awareness Project LogoOn April 1, the Missouri Commission on Human Rights (MCHR) kicked off national Fair Housing Month and a new Missouri public awareness campaign, the Show-Me Fair Housing Awareness Project, with a poster and journalism contest for youths.
