Department Introduces New Deputy Director Brian May

Jefferson City, Mo—The Missouri Labor Department recently welcomed Brian May to take the post as the Department Deputy Director as well as the acting Director of the Division of Workers Compensation.

May is an attorney with more than 20 years of experience in workers' compensation and employment law. He was formerly a state representative from 1993-2001, serving as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee.

As Deputy Director, May will assist Director Rebman in implementing administrative policies and procedures, as well as provide assistance and service to the citizens of the state of Missouri. He is committed to continuing the Department's tradition of excellence and to reinforce the Department's goals of making Missouri a great state for both employers and employees.

“It’s an honor to be a part of a Department that has such an impact on the lives of Missourians every day. I know my experience in working with programs such as unemployment and work comp will assist me in making confident decisions regarding these very important safety nets for the workers of our great state,” says Deputy Director May.

When May isn't at work, he loves spending time with his wife, Tracy and his three children, Cullan (17), Allie (15) and Brendan (11). He enjoys watching professional football and is a devoted St. Louis Rams fan. His family resides in St. Louis. Brian began his first day at the Department on January 3rd, 2011.
