The Labor and Industrial Relations Commission (Labor Commission) hears appeals from administrative law judge decisions in tort victims' compensation cases.

Filing an Appeal of a Tort Victims' Compensation Case Decision

A party aggrieved by a decision of an administrative law judge in a tort victims’ compensation case may appeal the decision by filing a Petition for Review (revised Feb. 2022) with the Labor Commission within 30 days following the date of notification or mailing of the administrative law judge's decision.

Filing an Appeal of a Labor Commission’s Decision:

A party aggrieved by a decision of the Labor Commission in a tort victims’ compensation case may appeal the decision by filing a notice of appeal with the appropriate district of the Missouri Court of Appeals within 20 days after the Labor Commission issues its decision.
